An Ursuline Associate is any woman or man who agrees to share in the goals, ideals and mission of the Ursuline Community while living out his/her personal vocation in the single or married life. The Associate contributes to the well being of the community through prayerful and loving support of the Sisters and sharing in the Ursuline apostolate according to his/her ability and interests.
Associates seek to share in the spirit, ideals and apostolic vision
of the Ursuline community, affirming that through our baptism, we
are called into forming the One Body of Christ and creating an opportunity
for the charism of Angela Merici to find new expression. Ursuline
Sisters have responded to the needs of society for more than four
hundred and fifty years in the spirit of their foundress, Angela Merici.
Angela was a woman of her age, a Renaissance woman. In a time of political turmoil, Angela was a woman of peace. In a time of family strife, Angela was a source of reconciliation. For those who sought to love Jesus Christ more intimately, she offered a new expression of dedication to Christ within the heart of society. |
